Types of Clients I Serve

Private Homes

In properties where every detail is meticulously considered, bespoke stained glass offers a rare opportunity to combine artistry, craftsmanship, and heritage. Each window or door becomes a statement piece—an exclusive work of art that enhances the character of your home while reflecting your personal taste and lifestyle.

From grand entranceways that greet guests with elegance to intimate interior windows that bathe rooms in light and colour, every piece is handcrafted to the highest standards using premium materials and traditional techniques. Designs can incorporate bespoke motifs, family crests, or intricate patterns, creating a truly one-of-a-kind feature that harmonises with both historic and contemporary architecture.

For homes with existing stained glass, expert restoration preserves the finest details and vibrant colours while maintaining structural integrity. This careful attention ensures that heritage features continue to impress and endure, enhancing both the value and prestige of your property.

Investing in ultra-luxury stained glass is an investment in artistry, legacy, and distinction. It transforms your home into a space of enduring beauty, offering an experience that is as timeless as it is unique.

Schools

Many historic schools, particularly private institutions, were designed with craftsmanship and beauty in mind. Stained glass windows were often installed as a way to inspire students, honor tradition, and create an atmosphere of learning enriched with artistry. Over time, however, even the most well-crafted stained glass can begin to show signs of age—cracked panes, weakened lead joints, or fading colors. Left unaddressed, these issues not only diminish the beauty of the building but can also compromise the structural integrity of the window itself.

Preserving these works of art is an investment in a school’s heritage. Professionally restored stained glass windows not only maintain their original charm but also continue to tell the school’s story for future generations. Whether your institution is seeking to restore century-old windows or add new custom stained glass that reflects its values and identity, skilled craftsmanship ensures that the work blends seamlessly with the building’s architecture while standing up to the test of time.

With expertise in both creating new stained glass and repairing existing installations, I help schools bring out the best in these distinctive features. From delicate repairs that protect original artistry to entirely new designs tailored to your school’s character, each project is approached with precision and respect for tradition. The result is more than just a window—it’s a lasting centerpiece that enriches your campus environment and inspires all who pass through its halls.

Care Homes

Care homes are entrusted with creating environments that foster comfort, dignity, and a sense of community for residents. Stained glass windows, whether original to the building or newly commissioned, can be a valuable part of that mission. They enhance the visual appeal of common areas, chapels, and entryways, while also reinforcing the home’s commitment to providing a warm and uplifting atmosphere for residents and visitors alike.

Many care facilities built in earlier decades feature stained glass windows as part of their architectural character. Over time, however, these windows often require professional attention. Cracks, fading, and weakened joints not only detract from the building’s appearance but can also present maintenance challenges if left unaddressed. Expert restoration preserves these assets, ensuring the facility continues to present itself as well-maintained and welcoming to families who visit.

For homes seeking to further invest in their environment, custom stained glass can also provide a meaningful enhancement. Tailored designs can reflect themes of nature, community, or faith, offering residents daily enjoyment while reinforcing the facility’s values. Whether restoring historic windows or installing new ones, professional stained glass work represents both a practical investment in the property and a lasting improvement to the resident experience.

Hospitals & Medical Centres

Healthcare environments benefit from design elements that go beyond functionality to create spaces that are calm, reassuring, and uplifting. Stained glass windows can contribute significantly to this atmosphere, whether featured in chapels, hallways, waiting areas, or communal spaces. Their color and artistry bring warmth to otherwise clinical settings, supporting a more welcoming experience for patients, families, and staff alike.

Many hospitals and older medical facilities already feature stained glass as part of their original architecture. Over time, these windows may require restoration to address cracks, weakened joints, or fading. Professional repair not only safeguards these important features but also helps maintain the reputation of the facility as one that is well cared for and respectful of its heritage.

For modern practices and hospitals, new stained glass can also be used strategically to enhance specific areas of the building. In chapels, it can provide a sense of peace and reflection; in waiting areas, it can create a calming focal point to ease anxiety; and in hallways or communal spaces, it can transform transitions into uplifting experiences. Whether through careful restoration of historic features or the creation of bespoke new designs, stained glass offers a lasting investment in both the property and the wellbeing of all who pass through its doors.

Churches

Many churches across England are custodians of stained glass windows that hold both artistic and historical significance. These windows often date back centuries, telling stories through biblical imagery, memorials, and intricate craftsmanship. Preserving them is not only an act of faith but also a responsibility to safeguard part of the nation’s heritage for future generations.

Over time, age and exposure to the elements inevitably take their toll. Cracks, weathering, and weakened leading can cause deterioration, while neglecting these issues risks further damage to both the windows and the surrounding stonework. Sensitive, professional restoration ensures the original artistry is preserved while protecting the structural integrity of the building.

My work is carried out with a deep respect for the history and spiritual importance of each church. Using traditional methods alongside modern conservation techniques, I provide careful restoration that meets both practical and heritage standards. In many cases, this kind of work can also be supported through grants and heritage funding, making timely repair a wise and achievable investment.

Entrusting your stained glass windows to skilled hands ensures they continue to inspire worshippers, visitors, and the wider community—today and for centuries to come.

Pubs & Hotels

Stained glass has long been a feature of Britain’s finest pubs and hotels, adding colour, charm, and character to spaces where people gather. From ornate Victorian pub windows to elegant hotel lobbies, stained glass creates a welcoming atmosphere that sets your establishment apart. Whether restoring original windows or commissioning new designs, stained glass is a powerful way to enhance your venue’s unique identity.

Over time, older stained glass can show signs of wear—cracks, fading, or loose leading that not only affect appearance but can also reduce the overall impression of your property. Professional repair and restoration preserve these features, keeping your venue looking its best while maintaining the authenticity and heritage your customers value.

For pubs, stained glass can highlight branding, local history, or traditional motifs that create a memorable customer experience. In hotels, bespoke designs in lobbies, stairwells, or dining areas offer a touch of artistry that elevates the ambience for guests. Whether working on historic windows or creating new pieces tailored to your brand, I provide skilled craftsmanship that enhances both the atmosphere and reputation of your business.

Stained glass is more than decoration—it’s an investment in your property’s character, customer appeal, and long-lasting value.

Wedding venues

Every wedding venue strives to offer something unforgettable—an atmosphere that captures the magic of the day and leaves lasting memories for couples and their guests. Stained glass windows and doors can provide just that. With their vibrant colours, timeless beauty, and ability to transform light, stained glass features create a romantic backdrop that elevates ceremonies, receptions, and photographs alike.

For historic wedding venues, stained glass often forms part of the original architecture. Over time, these windows and doors may need careful restoration to preserve their beauty and ensure they remain a focal point for generations of celebrations. Skilled repair protects these cherished features, maintaining the heritage and elegance that couples look for when choosing a venue.

For modern venues, custom stained glass offers an opportunity to create distinctive spaces that set you apart. Bespoke designs can be tailored to reflect themes of love, nature, or your venue’s unique identity. From grand entrance doors that make a striking first impression to chapel windows that bathe the space in coloured light, stained glass adds artistry and atmosphere that couples will treasure in their memories and photographs.

Stained glass windows and doors are more than architectural details—they’re investments in your venue’s reputation, helping you attract couples who want a truly special setting for their wedding day.

Historical and Grade II Listed Buildings

Historic and listed properties are treasures, reflecting centuries of architectural style, craftsmanship, and cultural heritage. Stained glass windows and doors are often key features of these homes, contributing to their character, elegance, and historic significance. Preserving and enhancing these elements requires specialist expertise to maintain both beauty and compliance with heritage regulations.

Over time, even the most carefully maintained stained glass can suffer from wear, including cracked panes, weakened leadwork, or fading colours. Expert restoration ensures that original artistry is preserved while safeguarding the structural integrity of your property. For Grade II listed homes, all work is carried out with full regard to conservation standards and regulatory requirements, allowing you to enhance your home without compromising its historic value.

In addition to restoration, bespoke stained glass offers the opportunity to create new windows or doors that complement the architectural period of your property. Designs can be tailored to reflect the building’s style, historical motifs, or personal touches, blending seamlessly with original features while elevating the overall aesthetic.

Whether repairing historic windows or commissioning new bespoke pieces, professional stained glass work adds lasting value, elegance, and heritage-conscious artistry to your home, ensuring these exceptional properties continue to inspire for generations to come.

Everything You Need to Know

Where to start - A helpful guide to choose your stained glass window design

Some of my clients have a very specific design in mind, and other clients simply have a window that they want to put stained glass in but they are unsure of what design or style they want. For all clients, I always do a site visit so that I can not only physically see the window and the amount of light it will receive, but to also gather more information about the client’s personal style, passions and the interior design style.

Here are things to consider that can help you uncover what you want out of the final design.

  • Where is the window located? The location of your window has a huge impact on the stained glass design, this should always be your starting point. In some cases, I have clients that don’t want the stained glass obstructing the view out of their windows, in which case I can create the panel in a back-lit frame so it can be hung on any wall just like a traditional piece of wall art.
  • What room it is in?g. is this a bathroom or kitchen, or is it a transom above an internal door or panels in or around your main entrance door.
  • How much sunlight typically shines thorough the window?g. does it get bright morning or afternoon sunlight or is it in more of a shady location.
  • What is the purpose of the stained glass?g. is it’s purpose to create privacy so others can’t see in or to act as a work of art similar to buying a painted canvas to hang on a wall.
  • What is the interior design style of the room it is being installed in?g. is it modern or traditional and what colours or patterns are in the current room.
  • If it’s an exterior window, what is the view outside of your home?g. do you want to tie the outdoor landscape incorporated into the design, such as trees, hills, flowers or animals. And you should also consider the building style and age of your home, what design or colours will be cohesive with the style of your building?
  • Is there anything you love or are passionate about that you want incorporated into the design?g. maybe you love flowers or the colour purple, or you love geometric patterns in bright primary colours, or maybe you have a favourite memory that you want to memorialise such as a place in the world or a loved one or pet that has passed away.

I always recommend to my clients that they answer the questions above before I begin on the design process. I also suggest to Google stained glass window designs and save any images that they are drawn to. Doing both of these steps expedites my ability to sketch patterns that they are most likely going to love.

Tiffany stained glass involves welding the cut pieces of glass with a thin line of lead solder. So, the main physical difference is thin lines vs thick lines. This style is best on smaller windows or windows with multiple panels (e.g. a front door that has 8 small panes vs 1 large pane). And this style is best for very complex designs with a lot of glass pieces.

Traditional style and Tiffany style can be combined to create very strong stable panels whilst still allowing you the ability to chose a more complex design. This process does take longer, but the outcome can be very beautiful!

The short answer is “How long is a piece of string?”

The longer answer is that it is dependent on many variables, such as:

  • The size of the window. The more glass, lead and steel reinforcement required, the higher the material costs.
  • The simplicity or complexity of the design. The higher the number of pieces in your design equates to a higher number of man hours to cut, grind and assemble the full panel.
  • Interior vs exterior window. An exterior window will at a minimum require extra steps by me to weatherproof and seal the panel, But to future-proof the panel from being accidentally broken or to ensure energy efficiency it will need to be “sandwiched inside double glazing” by a professional window installer.
  • The colour of the glass. Certain colours are more expensive, such as red or pink, because they require ingredients such as gold to create them.
  • The transparency of the glass, such as tinted transparent glass that you can see through vs opaque glass. Opaque glass requires more pigment in the manufacturing process, thus a slightly higher material cost.
  • The texture of the glass. Most glass is completely smooth, but they also manufacture more tactile glass that has waves, bubbles or patterns on them. Textured glass gives off an extra layer of light diffusion and can be very beautiful like a cut crystal, but as it’s an additional manufacturing step and it’s much more time consuming to cut… it is more expensive.
  • The installation of the glass. If you want me to install the panel I will need to charge you for the extra time/materials. Alternatively, some clients prefer to hire a professional joiner or window installer and I simply supply them with the stained glass window panel.
  • Your flexibility on your deadline. E.g are you are having this created for a birthday that is only a few weeks away vs if this is for an existing window that you just want to enhance in the upcoming months. During our site visit I will let you know how busy my current work load is, if I can easily fit it in there will be no rush fee. Alternatively, if I’m neck deep in current projects with non-flexible deadlines, then I will need to charge you a ‘rush’ fee as it will require me to work extra ‘out of office hours’ to complete it in time. I pride myself on always meeting my clients deadlines and expectations.

On average, a simple design for an average size window, from the design process to completion will take me usually 10 working days to complete.

A small piece that is simply being hung in a window by wire or chains, I can usually complete in 5 working days.

A large complex piece could realistically take months to complete.

I typically charge between £100-£200/day in addition to the cost of materials. This is because each one of my stained glass panels are custom works of art. No one else will ever have the same design as you.

Please note, I do require a 50% deposit before I will begin the official design process. This is to secure the time in my schedule to complete your project on time and for me to purchase the materials required to create the panel.

On average, a simple design for an average size window, from the design process to installation will take me roughly 10 working days to complete.

A complex design for an average size window, can take me 10-20 working days to complete.

A large complex design on a larger window could realistically take months to complete.

A small piece that is simply being hung in the window, I can usually complete in 5 working days or less.

It will depend on two variables, is it an interior or exterior window and what material is the current window frame.

If you are installing the stained glass panel in a wooden interior frame, such as a transom above an interior door or on the inside of a current exterior window, it can easily be installed with pins and wood putty or sealant.

If it is being installed in an interior door or exterior window that can open or close, it will need additional quarter round trim to ensure if the door or window accidentally slams shut, the glass won’t shatter from the vibration.

If it is being installed as an exterior window I recommend you hire a professional window installer to “sandwich” the stained glass inside a double paned glass window. In this instance I will simply supply you with the stained glass window panel. Alternatively, if you are stretch for time or don’t want the hassle, for an additional fee I can arrange this to be done by of the glass installers that I have a working

The short answer is yes. But it will be dependent on the grade of the listed building, the location of the window and the type of frame it is being installed in.

In instances of historic buildings involving exterior windows, you will need to obtain planning permission first.

If it is a lower grade listed building, a stained glass panel can be installed on in interior door or window or on the inside of an existing exterior window in methods that ensure the integrity of the frame and current glass is not undermined (e.g. the stained glass panel could easily be removed without any damage to the building or existing frame or window materials).
